For years Charon and I had talked about a garden but my back problems and the thought of the digging and weeding involved caused the project to be put on the back burner continually. Then while looking through gardening books at the library I came across a book by Patricia Lanza with the title "Lasagna Gardening". Actually it was the subtitle that caught my eye, "A New Layering System for Bountiful Gardens: No Digging, No Tilling, No Weeding, No Kidding!".
No digging? No weeding? How could that be? Well it's true for the most part. So we started ours and planted Tomatoes, Peppers, and Eggplant. We have had a couple of small weeds. There has been no digging or other back stressing work and we have already been enjoying Eggplants from our garden.
